AI as "Personal Trainer"

I am running a HALF Marathon on Oct 12. During the training period I had Covid and also had a few minor leg muscle strains that delayed training. With those factors in mind, I prepared a training schedule for the two weeks leading up to the race. THEN I prompted AI with that background information and asked for suggested tweaks to my training schedule.
Here is what I drafted vs. what AI suggested:
Half Marathon Training Schedule (Race Oct 12)
Date | My Plan | Suggested Plan (safer taper) |
Mon Sept 29 | 5 miles | 5 miles (easy) |
Tue Sept 30 | 3 miles | 3 miles (easy) |
Wed Oct 1 | 7 miles | 6–7 miles (easy) |
Thu Oct 2 | 3 miles | 3 miles (easy) |
Fri Oct 3 | 9 miles | 5–6 miles (easy/moderate) |
Sat Oct 4 | 3 miles | Rest or 2–3 easy miles |
Sun Oct 5 | 11 miles (long run) | 7 miles (easy) |
Mon Oct 6 | Rest | 10–11 miles (last long run) |
Tue Oct 7 | 6 miles | 5–6 miles (easy pace) |
Wed Oct 8 | 3 miles | 3 miles (with 2 × 30 sec strides) |
Thu Oct 9 | 4 miles | Rest or 2–3 easy miles |
Fri Oct 10 | Rest | Rest |
Sat Oct 11 | 3 miles | 2 miles shakeout (very easy) |
Sun Oct 12 | Race Day (13.1) | Race Day (13.1) |
You can see some training runs are very similar and others are different. I ultimately trained using a hybrid of my schedule and the AI schedule.
AI is more relevant and beneficial when a User prompts AI with information that helps it generate more specific tailored results.
AI validated much of what I planned and offered useful changes. It was effectively my personal trainer "Co Pilot". I made the final training decisions but factored in AI's input.
This "reality check" approach works well for many business issues presented (prompted) to AI.
